Rare Paper on wood toy featuring tumbling Chinese acrobats. 1850.

Acrobatic wooden Automaton. This is a beautiful hand-made, hand-painted/ paper on wood toy, made in Germany. The small wooden figures performs a series of flips as they descends down the steps due to gravity. They are lovely painted and nicely carved. The figures are dressed original,fabric trimmed with Dresden paper. The hats are carved wood. The stairs are actually formed as you fold up the box, ( the box has a drawer, that the acrobats can be stored. ( See last picture) Excellent condition all over. Germany 1850. Measurements: Measurements: Size of the box, when closed: H. L. 26 cm x H.8 cm x W. 6,75 cm/10" x 3-1/4"" x 2-2/3" Size of box set up as steps for performing: L.28 cm x 10 cm x 6,75 cm / 11" x 4" x 2-2/3" Size of dolls: H. 8 cm. Bars L. 14,5 cm/ 3 1/4" x 5-3/4" Pristine condition.

These trees were made of goose feathers in Germany. A pretty piece for the dolls' house. It is in wonderful original condition. Ca 1890

13-1/2"/34 cm. Charming French Papier-mache Lady doll, ( Pauline) ca 1840 with painted and modelled black curly hair, paintedblue eyes, finely painted browns, delicately painted mouth and cheeks. She is on her all original body and arms with stitched fingers,-body is sturdy and in a in great condition. Her dress is antique and original: a creme printed calico dress .(all hand stiched, underwear and great original leather shoes. She is in a very good state of preservation.She is so beautiful and so original! A rare to find French Pauline Type. A great choice for the collector of early dolls .Paper mache doll.

This Dresden ornament is just wonderful. It is made as a fine doll´s purse. The details are amazing. Embossed Dresden paper, embroidery at the cover, which opens, decorated with golden Dresdner trims. Inside covered with light purple paper and green silk. 4 small holders inside. It is in a good condition-but the silk in the edges is fragile. Also suitable for a doll house or a doll as accessory. Ca 1880. Size : H. 6 cm (+handles) W. 7 cm. Early Porcelain Fortune-Telling Doll for the French Market 9,1/2" (24 cm.) including hat. Porcelain shoulder head with black sculpted hair, painted facial features, muslin body,china arms and legs with flat shoes.Circa 1880.The doll was used for presentation of fortune-telling made for the French market. She is wearing original gold-brown velvet gown with black lace. Matching hat with band.The fortune teller has an "under-skirt" composed of hundreds of folded paper fortunes, each with a hand-written fortune in French language. It is rare to find a fortune -telling doll in such a complete state. Size of doll 24,3 cm /9 1/2 with hat". She is all original. A very rare and intersting doll for the collection. Wonderful Condition

Lehmann “Ajax”. Tumbling Acrobat Warrior EPL # 659"

This Lehmann "Ajax" toy was Patented 1903, this one ca 1914. The most articulated of all the Lehmann toys which uses a very complicated mechanism. It shows a warrior with clubs standing on long slats turning a somersault while fully extending. These came with two different kind of clothing and were expensive toys at the time. This one is the striped clothing version. Stands 10" ( 25 cm). Wind up, all original clothing and working fine.( Patent EPL 659) Very good condition. Some minor schratces due to age.
