Danish Design by Kaj Boyesen 1941. Paly horse on stick "Steckenpferd". Made in Denmark 1941.This is one of his early toys, so it is rare. It has some sign of age, but it is lovely.

Fine early German Steiff doll from the maker famous teddys. This is the "DUTCH girl" made of felt, jointed, blond mohair hair, blue fine glass hair and she even has her rare pearl necledge. Dressed all original from top to toe in felt and with a cotton hat. Her "clocks" are made of filt. She has the sewing line in her face She is near mint-the doll has never been played with. She is charming. "8 cm tall. A lovely addition to Steiff collectors. In 1910 Steiff decided-beside the bears and other animals- to imitate the humourous figures in a caricatural way in his dolls like musicians, schoolmaster and many other typical town, country characters. In the 1911/1912 Steiff catalogue dolls are listed with very detailed description of the character. It states that the costumes are true to the originals, that the clothes can be removed and that the shiny frizzy hair can be combed and brushed when wet.
