A Roullet et Decamps walking pig automaton, with leather-covered body, glass eyes, articulated head and legs with serrated metal wheels, the open-spring motor causing him to walk forwards while turning his head and squeaking -- ca 1880. Closed mouth and large nose stump, glass eyes, curly tail, on spur wheels to legs for forward ratchet action. Comes with the original Roullet & Decamps key. size - 9.1/2in. long from nose to tail, 4.1/2in. high, (24 x 11.5cm). Some wear to leather due to age otherwise excellent condition.
