Whitman#2057, 1956. Complete 8 page book cut and uncut in covers. The dolls have been punched and replaced in the covers for the photo and they both have ankle bends. The edge of the folder is worn and there is a water stain on the top of the spine area that really affects nothing. All clothes are in very good condition.

Günthermann mechanisches Tanzpaar. Sehr charmant. Das schöne Tanzpaar ist aus Blech hergestellt und handbemalt. Wenn aufgezogen, tanzt es. Die füllige Dame in rot-grünem Kleid, der Herr im schwarzen Anzug, Uhrwerkantrieb, originelle Funktion, Höhe 17 cm. Ein sehr dekoratives und seltenes Stück in sehr gutem Zustand. Einige kleine altersbedingte Farbabplatzer. In Deutschland hergestellt von der Firma Günthermann.

BIEDERMEIER-Puppe aus Papiermaché mit auffallender "Adelaide"-Frisur. Deutschland, um 1830. Die Puppe ist aus Papiermaché hergestellt, hat einen Brustplattkopf mit feinen ausmodellierten Haaren, und aufwändig nach oben gesteckter Frisur. Sie hat fein bemalte Augen und Mund. Ihr Körper ist aus Leder mit schmaler Taille. Die Unterarme und Beine sind aus Holz geschnitzt und am Leder mit Papier befestigt. Schöne alte Kleidung aus Tüll und Leinen und schöner Unterwäsche. Rot bemalte Pantoffeln. Die Puppe ist für ihr Alter in sehr gutem Zustand. Altersbedingte Spielspuren am Papiermaché. Höhe 37 cm. Sie wäre für eine frühe Puppensammlung ein Prachtstück. Puppen, die mit der typischen großen aufwändigen Haartracht der 1830-er Jahre ausgestattet sind, wurden häufig als Puppen im "Adelaide"-Stil bezeichnet, nach der Prinzessin Adelaide, Frau des Königs von Hannover und Großbritannien, Wilhelm IV. A Fernand Martin (France) clockwork automaton, "Le Pochard" (the drunkard) from 1899. Martin toys are portraying French life in the 19th century. They are crude in one way and sophisticated in another. Martin''s genius was to observe everyday people and transform them into toys. Many times toys are made for children but with adults in mind. The subtleties would be lost on a child. This is an early toy figure of a drunkard, with painted face, grey top hat with the Martin mark, a bottle and cup, with permanent key, black metal feet, check trousers and plain tunic (some wear and tear). Made to walk with a stagger and periodically take a drink, has survived remarkable well. See F.Marchand,L''Historie des Jouets Martin,Paris 1987.
