24" (60 cm)Large Pauline, french style paper mache doll.Made by Kestner 1850. He black painted and molded hair with brushstrokes, dark insert glass eyes, closed mouth. He is all antique dressed: He is wearing his original brown trousers, a white shirt sewn with wonderful details and a nice black felt hat with satin band and fine hand sewn leather shoes. He has a cotton body. Everything original and in very good condition. A charming large young man from 18%0.A great addition to a collection of early dolls. He is from an early private Scandinavian collection.

28 cm groß ist diese mechanische "Laufpuppe", sogenannte "Authoperipatetikos". Sie ist gemarkt "Patented July 15th, 1862-siehe Bild. Sehr guter Allgemeinzustand, mit Original Schlüssel. funktionstüchtig. Der schulterkopf ist aus Papiermache hergestellt. Das Kleid ganz original. Das Werk zum Aufziehen befindet sich unter dem Kleid. This walking dollis is a wonderful and rare exampel of these dolls. All original and in great condition. The doll is on a cardboard base with the patent marking (see picture). She has her original key for wind up. In the 19th century there were many examples in making a walking doll. The most famous of these, patented in America in the middle of the century was this kind of doll. They could be made to walk on their own either by being wound up or by the action of a lever.
