10 3/4"/ 27 cm Wonderful antique empire papier mache or paper mache lady doll from my own collection. This doll has a solemn face with blue painted eyes and beautifully modelled hair. Her hair is swept up into a knot .an unusual and early hairstyle. I think this lady is from the 1840s. She has the typical milliner's body, with green painted flat shoes, leather torso and paper rings where her wooden appendages attach. She wears her original creme cotton dress and has lovely underwear. Very nice cabinet size. Minimal wear to the papermache head some crazing to the shoulderhead.under the dress.

Belonged to the late Estrid Faurholdt, who gave the doll to the Danish Legoland collection.Head and shoulderplate made of papermache-The doll comes with the provenance.Antique and original all over. Body made of cloth, antique original lovely dress and the finest underwear. Size: 31 cm / 12-1/4" Estrid Faurholdt wrote the book Dolls and Dollhouses together with Flora Gill Jacobs. A must have item.............
