When the box is rotated and set down, the sand turns a wheel (axle) and the trapeze guy does his acrobatic wonders, and extremely dangerous feats of daring and thrill, and he doesn't use a net. Sand toy "Alfred the Acrobatic Bafflement" is a scarce, sought after piece, in excellent condition. It is shown in detail in the images. Carved wooden socket head with well-defined sculpting of facial features,ears and hair,having brown hair with deeply-defined comb-marks waves from face and put in a braid at around the head in a typaclt german way. at the nape, painted brown thick black upper eyeliner,brown one-stroke brows,closed mouth. All-Original Autoperipatetikos mechanical doll with key. Patended in USA 1862.

28 cm /12". Autoperipatetikos mechanical doll. Ca 1860. This walking dollis a wonderful rare exampel of these dolls. She is all original and comes with the original key to wind her up. She has a paper mache head with fine painted features. Lovely pink dress trimmed with lace. All original. She has black molded hair with a hair band .All original and in great condition. The doll is on a cardboard base with the patent marking (see picture). Original key for wind up. In the 19th century, there were many examples in making a walking doll. The most famous of these, patented in America in the middle of the century- was this kind of doll. They could be made to walk on their own either by being wound up or by the action of a lever. This is a great working examble.Wonderful condition. 28 cm/12" Tall All-Original Autoperipatikos original and functional condition Fully marked with original patent info on base. "Patented July 15th, 1862"

A rare and outstanding Milliners Model from ca 1830 with a wonderful hairstyle: short brushstroked curls, molded and painted, a lovely face with blushing cheeks, lovely mouth.She is on her fine Millners Model classic kid body with wooden arms and legs.large feet with painted slippers, antique and all original dress with multiple layers of underwear.All just lovely and still in fine condition. This charming girlish Doll is in very fine condition-and all original all over, with no restoration. She is 14" tall 35 cm. A great young lady, that would be so special in a collection of early dolls. Considereing her age, the condition is very good.She has minimal wear to the papier mache and the paint of her toes are a littlerupped. Clothes in great condition.

All original is this lovely Milliner Doll Papier mache shoulder head doll from 1830 with fancy molded long side curls and a braided bun. Fine painted features, blue eyes.She is on her original kidbody with wooden arm and legs, painted shoes, slim waist. Her dress all though fragile is all original. Silk top, cotton skirt overlay of Tulle and trimmed with lace. Totally unrestored. She has some slight wear to the paint of head.She is 17" tall-43 cm. A great early doll!
